Need Authentication service while living abroad:

Many Somalilanders in the Diaspora sometimes need certain documents to be authenticated for civil cases they have in the Courts of Somaliland or of other Institutions based in Somaliland, but suffer a lot due to the absence of Somaliltand diplomatic representation and consular services in the most world countries abroad. However, as a de facto state, Somaliland’s diplomatic presence is increasing year after the other, and the country is currently represented in over twenty countries including some honorary representatives appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation. Most of the missions provide consular services such as authentication of important documents which the Somalilanders in the Diaspora may need.

  1. Authenticate the document of power of authorization or the other document for approval from a certified Pubic Notary in the foreign country you live that is accessible to you there;
  2. Authenticate it from the Somaliland Foreign Mission/Representative in the receiving country whether you fulfilled the first step or not;
  3. If you could not find an official representative of Somaliland in that country, then authenticate it from the Committee of the Somaliland Diaspora Community Association that exist in the host country (It must contain contact details of the signatory committee members who signed it, must be original and stamped);
  4. The person authorized should submit original copy of the document in hand to Somaliland Diaspora Agency;
  5. The Diaspora Agency will make some verification, and confirm it to the respective courts, or to the other intended authority in Somaliland.
